The 21-year-old made his debut playing 70 minutes in Tuesday’s victory over Cardiff, before playing another hour in the solitary goal win over Stoke that firmed up the Town’s position in fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship table.
“It’s been a good settling in period,” said the former Fulham youngster. “To get two wins, and to still be up there in the table, it’s a nice feeling.
“It’s been very good (so far). The crowd’s been excellent as well, it’s been nice playing here, and everyone has made me feel welcome, so it’s been easy to settle in.”
On the game against the Potters, settled by Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu’s sixth-minute strike, he went on: “We’d have liked to have scored more goals and killed the game off, and not had that – I wouldn’t say nervous feeling – but that feeling at the end of the game that something could happen here.
“I thought we were very solid today, we worked hard and I didn’t really see them scoring, so credit to us.”
Asked about the goalscorer, he added: “He’s great, and he gives his all for the club. You don’t get 350 appearances for nothing. He’s really talented, a great guy and he gels the squad together well. He’s a great character, so I’m really happy for him.”
Drameh has also struck up a good understanding on the Town right with outside centre-back Reece Burke.
“There is a lot of communication and I think just freedom in our play,” he said. “You see that he bombs forward a lot, so I’m just there for cover, and vice versa. It’s a good link-up and hopefully we can keep it going.”
The Kenilworth Road crowd has clearly taken Drameh into their hearts. The feeling is mutual, he says: “The crowd’s on top of me and I really like it so I can feed off their energy. It’s an old fashioned stadium, and I like that. There’s not too many stadiums like this left in football.
“I just feed off their enthusiasm. They encourage me a lot and they are close to us, so I can hear them. They give really positive energy.”
After playing in the FA Cup third round for his parent club, Drameh is ineligible for Tuesday’s trip to Grimsby.
Looking ahead to continuing the fine run of form in the second tier at Coventry next Saturday, he said: “Rob just said to us at the end of the game, we’ve got a winning formula, we don’t need to break it. We’ve just got to keep doing the right things, keep working hard and keep grinding out results.”
