Match Preview | Burnley (A)

Nathan Jones' side are back on the road again in the Sky Bet Championship as they head to Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Looking to build on the point gained against Birmingham City last weekend, the Hatters will have to be at their best to take a positive result away from the recently-relegated Clarets.

The opposition:

Burnley made the perfect start to life back in the Championship after beating last year's play-off finalists Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the season.

Chelsea Ian Maatsen scored the only goal of the game, whilst fellow debutant Josh Cullen picked up Man of the Match after following manager Vincent Kompany over to Turf Moor from Anderlecht.

Since his arrival at the club in June, Kompany has bolstered his squad with nine summer signings and will hope to lead Burnley back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Last time we met:

It’s over 15 years since the Hatters have met Burnley in any competition and on that day in March 2007, it was a fairly forgettable goalless draw.

However the Clarets will take hope from the fact they are unbeaten against Luton since 2000 and have the superior all-time head-to-head record, with 23 wins compared to Town’s 16.

Ticket information:

Tickets remain on sale until midday on Friday 5th August. This match currently remains an all-ticket fixture. Supporters can purchase online or from the Ticket Office by phone (01582 416987) or in person.

Tickets cannot now be posted, therefore, an order will need to be collected from Luton Town Ticket Office or pre-purchased, and then collected from Burnley on the day of the game.

Any supporter that books online and wishes to collect from Burnley will need to book and then send a follow up email requesting this to ticketoffice@lutontown.co.uk.
