Marco Silva’s Cottagers have had a difficult beginning to the season with tough fixtures against Brentford, Arsenal and Manchester City.

This will be the first top-flight fixture between these two sides since the 1959-60 season, with the Hatters winning that fixture 4-1 at Kenilworth Road.

The opposition

Fulham returned to the Premier League last season after sealing promotion by claiming the Championship title and finished a respectable 10th place, finishing above local rivals Chelsea.

Their second season back in the top-flight has not started as planned, after a good opening day victory at Everton they have failed to win their next three games.

The Cottagers have faced more shots on target this season than any other Premier League side and have conceded the second most goals in the division.

Fulham have won just two of their last eight Premier League home matches and have not kept a clean sheet in any of those games.

Words from Rob

“I see every game as an opportunity to pick up points, I did at Brighton away, I did at Chelsea away, we believed then. We will improve, we’re going into a really difficult game away from home and every game is hard in the Premier League.

“However, it is another opportunity for us, I feel really confident going into it. Fulham have had a tough run of games themselves, they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways after losing a tough game against Manchester City, as that game always is.

“The pressure will be on them, no doubt about it. They’ll be favourites, the pressure will be on and they’ll be an expectancy to be able to turn up and beat us, so we have to make sure we are very resilient and defend very well, then I think they’ll be opportunities for us then to attack and put our game on them as well.

“I’m really looking forward to this game, I know the players are as well, we’re itching to get back into it now after these couple of weeks and we want to see how much we have progressed.”

Last time out

Our first ever Premier League fixture at Kenilworth Road did not finish with the result we wanted as we narrowly lost to West Ham United, who were briefly top of the league at full-time.

Mads Andersen scored our first Premier League goal from open play after Jarrod Bowen and Kurt Zouma netted for the Hammers.

Team news

Captain Tom Lockyer is set to return after missing out against West Ham.

Gabe Osho is still ruled out ahead of this fixture, while Dan Potts and Jordan Clark are long-term absentees.

Officials

The referee for our fixture against Fulham will be Michael Salisbury.

Salisbury has taken charge of two games so far this season, dishing out just three yellow cards across the two fixtures.

Luton Town last had a game ran by Salisbury in April 2021 when the Hatters hosted Reading in the Championship at Kenilworth Road.
