Match Preview | Sunderland (H)

Luton Town are looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Sunderland to Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon.

Now ninth in the Sky Bet Championship following defeat last weekend, Nathan Jones' side will be eager to re-start another good run of form as they look to get themselves back in the play-off places.

The opposition:

Back in the Sky Bet Championship following play-off victory against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley Stadium, Sunderland have made a good start to life back in the second tier.

Strikers Ross Stewart and Ellis Simms are both on the sidelines at the moment with eight goals between them, however the latter has an outside chance of being involved on Saturday.

Creativity largely comes from wingers Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts who both joined the Black Cats on a permanent basis this year. Clarke - signed from Tottenham Hotspur - has scored four goals in the league so far this season and has the joint-second most assists in the division with five.

Last time we met:

Both Sunderland and the Hatters had a player sent off as the League One encounter ended all square in January 2019.

Chris Maguire gave the home side the lead 16 minutes into the match, before James Collins equalised in the second half from the penalty spot after Danny Hylton was brought down. Controversially, Hylton was sent off just three minutes later as the Hatters held on for a point at the Stadium of Light.

Ticket information:

The Ticket Office advise that the home fixture on Saturday against Sunderland has currently sold out and is off sale.

Season Card holders who are unable to attend this fixture are encouraged to contact the Ticket Office via email to ticketoffice@lutontown.co.uk by 1pm on Thursday 27th October to utilise the buy-back process to enable us the re-sell seats as early as possible.

Buy-backs will, however, be accepted until 3pm on Friday 28th October. Releasing your seats for re sale will enable other supporters to purchase tickets for the game. In return we will issue a £10 buy-back voucher (£5 for Juniors/Youths).

This voucher can be used at bars and food and catering units throughout the ground. It can also be used in either club shop. The voucher will be issued and available for collection at the next home fixture (Reading 1st November).

Season Card holders who have used their allocation of buy-backs for this season (maximum 5) will still be able to apply and receive an additional buy-back voucher as this game has been declared a sell-out.

Any returned tickets will be released for sale at 1pm on Thursday 27th October online or from the Ticket Office by phone or in person.
