Tomorrow Rob Edwards’ squad step up preparations for the Premier League debut as they head off to a week-long pre-season training camp in Slovenia.
After returning home to take on Ipswich Town (at Colchester), Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough and Wolves at Molineux, we can reveal that a week before the Premier League opener at Brighton, supporters can look forward to a weekend away in Germany as a warm-up for the trip to the south coast.
On Saturday 5th August, supporters will be able to travel to watch the Town in action against Bundesliga opposition - twice on the same day.
The Hatters will face German top-flight opposition in two matches, at the same venue, with kick-off times and full details of how fans can be there to follow in the coming days.
First it's a trip to Slovenia, and speaking after our opening win against Peterborough on Friday afternoon, Edwards expressed his happiness at how the first week has gone: "We got 45 minutes in for everyone in the group, which is really good.
"We’ve got to just keep our heads down, keep working hard, keep doing what we are good at and try to do it better. We work extremely hard, we want to be aggressive, and you’ve got to be very ruthless in both boxes.
"We will keep raising the standards and new recruits will do that, that will lift the group and it will raise standards. The lads know the level we are going into is the best in the world, so they believe us when we say they have to work hard, it’s pretty easy to get that positive reaction from the lads.
"It’s been a good first week back."
