The Town development squad came close on a number of occasions but could not break the deadlock against the League Two side who rarely threatened.

Adrian Forbesโ€™ side almost led in the 34th minute when Jake Burger headed wide and a minute later Tobias Braney nodded a Benedict Benagr cross past the post.

Substitute Sam Anderson fired a shot wide shortly before the hour-mark as the Town pushed for the opening goal.

However, it just would not come, as Jack Lorentzen-Jones could not find the target with two chances in final 15 minutes and the game ended all square.

Town: Horlick, Pinnington, Benagr, Martins (sub Anderson 22), Chigozie, Kayibanda, Piesold, Lorentzen-Jones, Braney (sub Allen 61), Burger, Matthews-Lewis.

Subs not used: Camis, Lynch.
