Rob Edwards’ side picked up their first ever Premier League point when they drew with Wolves last weekend, with the Town looking to build on that and progress.
Sean Dyche’s Everton have also improved in recent weeks, the Toffees have been victorious in their last two matches at Brentford in the Premier League and at Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
The opposition
Everton’s poor 2022/23 season spilled over into the start of the new campaign, they lost four of their first five league games before earning three points against Brentford last weekend.
The Toffees backed up that win by advancing to the Carabao Cup fourth round after victory at Villa Park during midweek.
The Goodison Park faithful are yet to see the home side score yet this season, it would only be the second time the Toffees have ever failed to win any of their first four home league games if they don’t pick up three points on Saturday.
Everton will be looking to pick up successive league wins for only the second time since the start of last season.

“Tuesday night was a disappointment for us, but we have to look at the league form as well and try to improve again on that. From Brighton to Wolves, I’ve seen improvements, we’ve gone on a quick journey and a really good journey.
“I want us to keep building and going the right way, Saturday is another opportunity to do that. We are coming up against a difficult Everton team, a team on the front-foot, athletic, organised as Sean Dyche’s teams always are, they’ve got some really good individuals.
“They are coming off the back of two good wins as well, so they will be confident. This is a tough game as every Premier League game is, especially away from home, but it’s a game we are looking forward to.
“The reaction has been good since Tuesday, the lads have been buoyant and that’s how we’ve got to be. We had a knockdown and an off night, we’ve got to deal with it, lick our wounds and we look to improve. We’ve got to stand up and perform.

Last meeting
League One Luton Town took Premier League Everton all the way to extra time in the League Cup back in 2007 at Kenilworth Road.
The game was goalless at full-time in the round of 16 before super-sub Tim Cahill saved the tie for the Toffees in the 101st minute.

The Hatters travelled to Exeter City in the Carabao Cup third round after picking up their first Premier League point against Wolves.
Deme Mitchell scored for the Grecians late in the second half to knock Luton Town out of the competition.
Team news
Ross Barkley has trained the past two days, but Town manager Rob Edwards says the former Everton midfielder won’t be in contention to face his former club on Saturday.
The boss also said Tom Lockyer is fit for selection and has trained after a slight concern over the skipper’s fitness in the past week.
Loan midfielder Sambi Lokonga is definitely not available after the Arsenal man injured his hamstring and is back with his parent club recuperating.
Gabe Osho, Dan Potts and Jordan Clark remain sidelined, although the former is back on the grass.

The referee for our fixture against Everton will be Anthony Taylor.
Taylor will be taking his 350th top-flight fixture at Goodison Park this weekend, he first began refereeing in the Premier League in 2010.
45 yellow cards and a red card have been handed out by Taylor across his nine games so far this season.
Luton Town last had a game ran by Taylor in November 2008 when the Hatters fell to defeat against Shrewsbury Town in League Two.
