Rob Edwards’ side picked up their first ever Premier League victory when they took all three points from Goodison Park against Everton on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany’s Clarets have yet to win a Premier League game this season after being promoted as champions last season.

The opposition

Burnley have struggled to adapt to life back in the Premier League after losing tough early fixtures against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Their confidence was boosted when they advanced to the Carabao Cup fourth round with victory at Salford City last Tuesday.

Luca Koleosho has created more chances, had more touches in the opposition box and completed more dribbles than any other Burnley player in the Premier League this season.

This is the first top-flight meeting between Luton and Burnley since the 1974/75 campaign.

Last meeting

Championship leaders Burnley came away with all three points against 10-man Luton Town back in February at Kenilworth Road.

The eventual champions took the lead late on when Ashley Barnes converted from the penalty spot as Tom Lockyer was sent off.

Last time out

The Hatters picked up their first Premier League win in the club’s history after taking all three points at Everton last Saturday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal just before half-time was not enough for the Toffees as Lockyer and Carlton Morris’ goals secured the points for the Town.

Team news

Defenders Lockyer and Reece Burke are fit to feature in Tuesday night’s game after being substituted at Goodison Park.

Manager Rob Edwards said that he is hopeful that Ross Barkley will be able to feature in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off against Spurs.

Gabe Osho, Dan Potts, Sambi Lokonga and Jordan Clark remain out of action.

Officials

The referee for our fixture against Burnley will be Peter Bankes.

22 yellow cards and a red card have been handed out by Bankes across his four Premier League games so far this season.

Luton Town last had a game ran by Bankes in May 2022 when the Hatters fell to the defeat in the Championship play-off second leg at Huddersfield Town.
