Watch Luke Berry's Hatters journey through photos!

Fresh from signing his new contract with Luton Town, we sat down with long-serving midfielder Luke Berry and went through his Hatters moments looking back at photos of his time at Kenilworth Road.

The 30-year-old arrived from Cambridge almost six years ago and has contributed to three promotions with the Hatters, so we asked Berry to start his journey from the beginning, which you can watch in full in the video above.

“This is when I signed back in 2017”, said Berry while looking at a photo of him on his first day with us. “What a decision that has turned out to be. I had a chat with Nathan Jones at the time and he sold it to me really that we were going to go up the leagues, show everyone what we’re about and he was spot on. It didn’t take too much to persuade me, I wanted to come to Luton, and I wanted to show my qualities at the club.

“I did think there was a good chance we could make it to the Championship, we were in League Two at the time. Within a couple of weeks of training, I felt that we had a really strong squad here, the competition and the intensity we were training at, you could just feel that we were going places and we did.”

Berry believed the momentum continued into the League One season as the Hatters completed back-to-back promotions, saying: “It breeds confidence knowing that you are going out there and beating these teams two or three-nil, then that keeps on going and you’re training well. Mick and Nathan were giving us that confidence at the time and we thought that we could do something special here and we did.

“We pushed through, we got to the Championship, and I don’t think a lot of teams would have thought that at the beginning of the season. When they started to play us, they realised we were actually a good team.”

Looking at a photo of himself holding the Championship play-off trophy at Wembley, after Rob Edwards led the Town to promotion with victory over Coventry City on penalties last month, Berry explained: “That’s the best achievement I’ve had in my career.

"To do it at Wembley with this group of players and this club, it makes it even sweeter. You can see all the fans in the background of the picture, they are loving it. It’s the best day of my career by a mile.”
